Frost vs Fire mage in pve

Ive just dinged 70 while leveling all the way as frost.
Ive heard a from a lot of people that fire is wayy better than frost in pve. Is that true and by how much?
Also can anyone tell me what should i do as a fresh 70 mage?

Frost damage comes from crits, crits happen on frozen targets. Frozen effect breaks on damage meaning your group/raid members will break them before you can benefit and your damage will be meh.

Fire is indeed the better spec for pve and frost is probably the worst

Frost is not a viable pve spec. But you can still use it in regular dungeons and even heroics if you want as it has good crowd control, plus it would continue to be useful for questing at 70. Once you start raiding, you'd definitely want to go into fire.
