My name is Tusk, and I play a Troll Mage on Medivh 1x on Warmane.
I just finished leveling from 22-70 by AoE grinding mobs. Because I am constantly under barrage by questions on the Horde side, I figured I would make this post so that anyone, regardless of faction or server choice, could hear my story and some of my thoughts along the way.
1) When did you start, and how long did it take?
I started the second the server was released. I woke up 30 minutes early the day of the release and spammed login until the server opened. Total time played ended up being 10 days, 9 hours, 45 minutes, 36 seconds.
2) Did you quest at all between levels 22 and 70?
Yes, I did a small handful of quests. These included the Zul'farrak dungeon quests, the Galen escort quest in swamp of sorrows, the intro quest to fly to Thrallmar after going through the dark portal, the Ring of Blood quests in Nagrand, some hinterlands quests, and two quests in Netherstorm for a wand/helmet upgrade. So, roughly, 20 quests between levels 22 and 70.
3) How many mobs did you kill...?
I am not sure, but I do know that I have killed over 20,000 buzzards in Hellfire Peninsula alone. If any Warmane devs could post my stats on mobs killed I would really enjoy that.
4) What is wrong with you? Why would you do this?!
That is a fair question. I was inspired by Dunn Gillette's Warcraft Machinima from 2006 called "In Frost We Trust". I had the pleasure of speaking directly with the creator about a month ago, and decided I would go all out and just do it.
5) Are other people doing this in 2017?!
Through extensive conversation with multiple top players and guilds on Medivh, I am 95% confident that I am the only person who has done this on Medivh.
6) Did you make tons of gold?
Medivh's green drop rates were basically 0% due to what I can only assume is a bug, so, for example, after killing nearly 20,000 vultures in HFP, I did not receive a single green item, blue item, or epic item. I did, however, receive about 10 Traveler's Backpacks, which technically are green.
The total gold from gray trash drops and assorted cloth came to about 2,000g.
7) What are you going to do now?
Now I am going to quest through the entirety of outland and collect that sweet max level gold bonus on the 540 quests available to me, and continue to contemplate my own sanity (or, lack thereof).

Blizzard spec for leveling is well known you know.
I tsaw2 mages doing it on Medivh, and I'm still only 36. I did it myself to level back on Lord.
For anyone interrested, check some guide on youtube, the only hard part is to fing somewhere with a lot of packed mob, and no players around !

You are telling this to the person who just did it from 22 to 70. Did you even read my post!!! I even said I personally communicated with the creator of In Frost We Trust, the video with over 1 million views from 2006 that put blizzard leveling on the map. The point of this post wasn't that what I did was not "well known", it was that I did it from 22 to 70. My apologies if English is not your first language and perhaps you did understand exactly what I was attempting to communicate, but I hope this helps. If you do not understand the intensity of doing something like this, then perhaps you should try it yourself sometime.
I can also tell you, that although I saw other mages blizzard leveling, I did not see anyone else do it from 22 to 70. I leveled in the most well known spots for 10 days played time, gahhh just read my post before commenting!!!
p.s. Don't even lie and say you purely leveled from AoE farming on lord from 22 to max level, again, read my post before commentingEdited: July 3, 2017

Hey Tusk, Biy here. Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to sum up your experience. At least you did your aoe leveling without exploiting the little slimes in Pools of Agnonar that were being farmed hard as they gave full EXP and had little to no life. That has now been fixed, so i would like to personally thank warmane for addressing that issue sooner than later to help keep things ontrack with being as blizzlike as possible.

Tldr you abused the oozes in Helldire or the scavengers in nagrand.. low hp mobs that give full xp. I hit 70 in 8 days while doing every quest in old world, didn't go to Outland till 63. A speed run for me would be 6 days, but I do every quest so that will never happen.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that i killed oozes in hellfire or scavengers in nagrand...because I didn't kill either of those mobs, nor did I exploit anything. All the mobs I killed had full hp and were painfully slow to grind.
The only mobs i killed from 58-70 were vultures in hellfire peninsula and ethereals in netherstorm, neither of which were exploits and usually took between 9 and 12 hours per level of grinding. I imvite any GM or warmane developer to look into my account to back this up.
Do you just always go around throwing baseless accusations at people, or is this a special occasion?

Thanks for the comment, biy! This had been fixed long before I even got to Outland, but even if I had the opportunity to grind oozes like others did, I wouldn't have because I was following the same route as presented in the video In Frost We Trust. If you havent seen it, you should youtube it...its a work of art haha!

even if you had killed slime it wouldnt be an exploit or abuse. Since when is killing any mob in the game abusing the game? pfft dont listen to him Gwynoff you give us slacker grinders hope.

This is going to be the last time I respond to you because you seem to be overtly negative/hateful/spiteful by default, but I will say this:
I did know about the slimes, because I regularly called out Authorityx on a daily basis for grinding them to 70. This was even back when I was around level 40. I also never grinded a single mob in badlands!
