If I got a mount from the store will it be account wide? or character specific?

Depends where you play. On MoP is account-wide: mounts, pets, and achievements are all shared among alts as well, only TBC, WOTLK and Cata has them character bound.

On top of that it sometimes depends on the mount, for example, Big Blizzard Bear is BoA and was introduced in 2.4.3 (Not 100% if it was then considered BoA), but I know for a fact in WOTLK+ the mount is BoA and can be sent to other characters.
