Stabilized Eternium Scope Scam?

I've had numerous random people (all in the same guild) offering to sell me stabilized eternium scope for a ridiculously cheap price (100g, 300g, way lower than AH) in the past 24 hours. None of them will just sell me the item in trade window, they all insist on applying it to my weapon like you get things enchanted. Is this a scam? Seems like a scam. I even offered to buy the item normally, and apply it to my weapon immediately right in front of them, and they have all refused.

from what i heared there is a bug that u can apply it via trading without consuming it or smth like that, not sure if its true, havent tested it
