1. Instructions for Warmane team!!! WOD models to TBC!

    Hi everyone!

Today I get the instruction from men who know about how to improve models for TBC client.
So, that's what he sayed to me:

    1. There are instructions on the page https://github.com/Koward/jM2converter
    2. Download the improved models mod for vanilla.
    3. Open the MPQ file with Ladik's MPQ Editor.
    4. Extract the m2 and blp files belonging to the model you want to convert.
    5. Install Java.
    6. Use jm2converter and convert the model from vanilla to tbc format following the instructions i linked earlier.
    7. Add the converted models to a MPQ file following the correct path the game expects to find the models in. (Like "Creature\Cow\Cow.m2" for example.)
    8. Name the new MPQ file "patch-5.MPQ" or something like that. It has to start with "patch-", then a number, and it must have the ".MPQ" extension in capital letters.
    9. Place the new MPQ file in "World of Warcraft\Data".
    10. Start the game with WoWMe. Watch the video to understand how to use it. You cannot use model edits in TBC without this program, because the client will not load any custom files.

    P. S. I post this information here for Warmane team, because someday I want to download a TBC with HD models from this site (even some characters will have some little bugs like a haircut or smth not bigger, I ready to download it and play with this patch) And I've posted it here because I haven't skills to make it.. Bad, but my proffession only to be a designer and not a programmist.

    Ohh, forget..

After I try to please him to do it, he tell me that:
    - I do not have the time nor desire to convert the whole mod to TBC. You can try making a request for a particular model on ownedcore and maybe someone will do it for you http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...ions-requests/

So I like to play on Warmane and want to play with good TBC client on a good TBC server.

Thank you if you will get this information from me and will make this for all players who like your server!

  2. I already converted half of the npc's of the Eastern Kingdoms/kalimdor. The problem is some models (ex: Boar) need 3ds Max edit and characters models are super hard to fix.
Be brave and try convert the outland npcs xD

  3. I have an experience to modelling in 3d. I mean i know a little blender, 3ds max, zbrush, maya. But it's just a little and blender is my favorite program.
But the skeleton, I mean joints and bones I know very bad, and think that I forget it. I know how to texture. I mean unwrap... But all I know it's just a little bit of a big skills that is needed to do the mode. So if I can help you, just tell me how, because even I have the instructions, I can't understand how to convert and export files which are inside the MPQ files... Too much information for my brain )) Too much.. My proffesion is designer of advertising like bilboards or magazine/mockups for shops.. I know: Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Flash, Premier Pro, After Effects..

  4. I am a biologist, so I started from scratch xD
For example, i give you a model in m2 of the boar without texture. You know how to make the "paint job" in png for convert in blp.

  5. Hi, I downloaded the MPQ and WoWME - that part was easy, obviously. I also downloaded the jM converter thingy, but what I am doing with the jM2converter is beyond my comprehension. I downloaded the files and followed the basic instructions as best I could... and now I am stuck, sucking on my thumb while waiting for help.

I do not know what to do, I open "environmental variables" and try to follow the rest of the instructions as best I can, but to me, it makes no sense.

I am stuck with reading the line [java -jar jm2converter.jar -in "Frog.m2" -out "FrogConverted.m2" <OPTIONS>] over and over again, while also having a jM2converter-master folder on my desktop, with files I have no idea what to do with.

So, uhm... could I get any help?

    What I have done:

*Completed the installation of MQP and WoWME
    *Downloaded jM2converter from your link.
*Found out where editing System Variables is done.
*Pondered upon this sentence: [ 2. Download the improved models mod for vanilla. ]

  6. Followed the instruction, did some DBC editing, and so far so good, except for this:

Most of the models have holes in them. Some are okay though.
Here's a download link in case anyone can fix it - http://www.mediafire.com/file/1y00za...x2/patch-6.MPQ

  7. Amazing! How do I install this? Also, are there any other mods out there for 2.4.3 to make the game look better, Like gear, weapons, enviroment?

EDIT: I found the installation text haha... However, second question still stands!
