im not sure why im making this post, perhaps as a way to vent because theres nothing else i can do about the situation. I've been playing computer games a long time, mostly mmorpgs but ive also tried mobas and shooters and whatnot. The reason i mainly stick to rpgs besides the obvious game play differences is the people are usually more mature and less likely to be a complete jerk. On this server, outland to be specific, i find that a lot of people are complete ****ing dicks. They will come up to you when killing a group of mobs and steal your quest mob or escort instead of just inviting you to a group. They will sneak up when you are already mining and try to mine the same node as you, or worse yet, sneak by when you are killing the mob guarding it. Since this is a pvp server, while annoying, this is obviously fine for cross faction to do since we are supposed to hate each other. But other horde players doing it, what is your ****ing problem ? Is it really that hard to get the next one or wait 3 minutes for the mob to respawn or ****ing invite me to group or ask for an invite ? It seems like there is no ****ing camaraderie whatsoever. Other horde wont even help if pvp ensues aka your getting ganked by a rogue or something. In conclusion i guess im trying to figure out why the **** a large percentage of the population are complete ****s. Is it because the server is free/5x and that allows for a more casual and or douchie clientele? Is it because most games and social interactions on the internet are just being more dominated by asshats nowadays? Is it because im from NA and its a european server and this is just how europeans behave? I honestly dont know so if its these or another reason lemme know. Im not going to quit playing the game over these ~5 bad experiences a day but i wouldnt mind knowing for future game play purposes so i can avoid it in the future. Just because its a game doesnt mean you should throw out all common decency and be mean to other people. Your probably causing their day to be a little worse and these games are supposed to be fun, not filled with social conflict. Anyways rant over, if your one of the people that i mentioned go **** yourself, maybe try to be a better person even if its only a game.

Unfortunately that has a lot of "welcome to the internet" to it. The anonymity, coupled with the fact accounts are easy to create and the servers free to be played, makes many people feel safe in being how they really wish they could be without any worry of repercussion. Of course, many will claim they only do it "because it's a game," but character isn't something you can turn off because you're in a game.

I wish all quest areas were free for all.
I would just wipe out all horde/alliance in the entire area so nobody can steal my quest mob. Questing would be so much faster if it was possible to kill the own faction...Edited: September 6, 2017

probably because of fast leveling, char buy/sell, and big population server simply attracts those kinds of players. 'everything now and dont stand in my way!' instead of just 'lets have some fun' mentality

WoW is a very old game, so the average playerbase is not 12-year-olds, ESPECIALLY on TBC. It's not a server problem. It's not an EU problem either. Asshats come from every region - in fact, I consider US people to be far worse and a lot more disrespectful and full of themselves.
As Obnoxious said, this happens in all games across all region. It's just how online gaming works. People play games to have fun and more often than not this means ruining other people's fun. When people get mad in games, the easiest way for them is to throw a fit on someone ingame. Understand this and learn to deal with it or you'll never be able to enjoy online gaming.
The best way to deal with it? Not giving a ****. Someone ganks you and you can't retaliate? Leave the area. Someone flames you? Ignore them. Someone in your group being an *****? Votekick them. You can't votekick them? Leave. You are the master of your own experience and the less you allow other people to interfere with it, the more fun you'll have.

I feel your point. When I played on a smally populated server ''Frostwolf'' MoP , majority was friendly and helpful. After a while i got bored of MOP and decided to Icecrown. And holy hell, I started to play a new class, in dungeons i made a **** up, i asked what was my problem and instead of friendly polite explanation from them i received a nice ''**** off noob'' answer.. Also these gankers from horde/alliance sides. C'mon guys if you have social problems IRL, don't throw your anger on others IG. That makes no point, that's stupid and childish.

The private server community it pretty cancerous in general, with the higher pop here you run into more of them. Find a good guild and play with them.
