So i just started playing on the server again to relive the WOTLK experience, my goal is to get Shadowmourne on my paladin. The thing is; i just talked to one of my friends online and he said it is impossible to obtain without paying.
What to do?

The shadowmourne quest chain is working.... your friend is lying xD. It will take some time to complete the quest... but it is definitely not impossible

If you just started playing here i wouldnt get my hopes up that you will get SM anytime in near future. Even if you join a guild that clears everything there is multiple people infront of you and i takes 3-4 months to get the shards for 1 person and most of people who get priority on shards are core raiders/veterans/officers etc. But yes, quest works fine you can get it in game.
