1. [ANSWERED] How do you choose which bugs to fix?

How do the developers choose which bugs to fix?

    Is it random?

Do you prioritize old bug reports? New ones?

Do you prioritize better quality bug reports?

Do you prioritize certain expansions over others?

Do you actually look at the upvotes?

Do you prioritize raid fixes? Do you ignore raid fixes?

Do you have different devs who do different kinds of fixes when they can? For example: a dev that works on quests is available, so only quest bugs get fixed. The raid scripting devs are unavailable so the raid bugs never get fixed.

Why are bugs like these so old and highly upvoted but not given priority over obscure quest fixes?

I am just trying to better understand how the bug report system works on these servers. Thanks.

  2. Will be cool if staff answer these question but I doubt.
Here is even worse example (2 years old, Confirmed, 821 votes) and still not fixed: https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/1216

  3. Nobody cares about MoP.

WotLK brings in the money and there are still bugs that have been reported, but never fixed. Mind Flay resisting being one of them. Who would want to make a shadow priest when their main ability gets resisted A LOT!?!?

  4. Bug reports are fixed on an impact basis. For example, it's usual for a developer to focus on getting the content done, such as Black Temple, as opposed to fixing some minor issue elsewhere.

We do focus on priority issues too by voting however some of them either cannot be fixed due to missing data or the developer is not yet working on it.

I will give you an example: https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/20444

This report is highly rated and we are aware of it and our developer who is in charge of these systems once rewrote the entire system and it did not get completely fixed. Now that same developer is working on cross-realm battlegrounds and only after he's done with that, he will look at this report and fix it.

This report is just highly upvoted but in the great scheme of things is insignificant: https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/99
After all, it's just a tooltip visual issue.

    https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/254

This one requires an immense amount of effort which would benefit only one class and only in a visual sense, hence it's a pretty low priority to deal with.

In all reality, we could give specific explanations about every issue. One thing's for sure, we'll get rid of that 800 + votes report this month, it is an eyesore for many of us.
