1. Rogue Hit Rating.

As a rogue u need 64 hit to never miss a special and 363 to never miss a white attack.

The above is stated in almost every TBC rogue guide out there.

I'm not here to ask what the hit cap is but instead on what the "sweet spot" is for hit in TBC as a rogue.

There is a number out there where even though you're not fully white hit capped, its not worth priotitizing hit anymore. This is the case because you get more benefit and in result more DPS from other stats. Even though it may mean you sometimes miss, its not often enough for it to matter on the extra DPS you would gain from if you prioritized other stats.

The point of this forum is to find out what the "sweet spot" is for hit. Im looking to find out what the exact (or a general range) of how much hit a rogue needs before they start to prioritize other stats

You gotta hard cap it, doesn't matter at what tier you're. Hit rating has the highest value followed by expertise and then by agility/haste.

    White 363
White (w/ Draenei racial aura) 347
White (w/ Imp Faerie Fire) 316
    White (w/ Draenei + Imp FF) 300

    Actually is false

The hit and expertise caps are NOT magic numbers that every rogue [or any rogue] must reach. Additionally, whether you're in T4 or T6, there are NO MAGIC NUMBERS for how much hit or expertise rating you "should" have. Finally, there are NO SPECIAL THRESHOLDS where the value of hit or expertise rating changes dramatically other than these caps. There is no special benefit to being hard-capped with either stat, nor is there any special benefit to reaching an arbitrary threshold. The purpose of listing the caps here is so that you do not accidentally overshoot either cap by equipping too much hit rating or expertise rating. Always remember that any hit rating or expertise rating beyond the cap will have zero effect on your DPS.

  4. You still do cap it for 25 man raids. As long as you've got a enha chaman it's stupid to not be hit capped. WF totem + Sword spec're just to good, to get misses on them.

Plus any decent guild'll have boomkins in the raid with 3/3 Imp Faerie Fire so you either go 316 or 300(dranei) and that's pretty much not up for debate.

  5. Depending on your other stats, your weapon enchants and your particular spec Agility is going to overtake Hit as a rating. If you have Mongoose (which you should have) Hit is more valuable than Agility even at relatively high levels of Hit. If you have Combat Mace/Sword or Fist/Sword Agility will become more valuable than Hit at relatively low levels of Hit. Spreadsheets can help calculate when Agility becomes the better stat.

    Hey,
Could you show me a spreadsheet where you can prove that assertion? I really do not see when that would be a thing? Even a site would be fine if you dunno how to do it.
