So I rolled up a paladin considering to mostly be PvEing. Wanted to try a tanking as a pally for the first time. As I levelled as ret and got into world PvP I forgot how much fun I had PvPing back in the day, and find myself being drawn more towards that. Thing is, if I remember correctly, Ret Paladins were kind of "meh" in TBC. My question(s) are:
Is Ret Paladin at least semi competitive in PvP? Mostly interested in BGs, not looking to get super into arenas, just doing what I need to for points, not competing on the ladder. I know this answer largely depends on personal skill, but I just mean in an overall sense and compared to other classes.
I guess I mostly want to know if Ill be wasting my time and getting frustrated trying to gear and compete in BGs with a ret paladin. Should I stick to PvE and roll another class for PvP? (In retail TBC I PvPed as a feral druid, frost mage and warrior)
Thanks for your time, sorry I know the question is a bit broad but I would like to get some other opinions on this before I go all in on gearing this character up.
I totally agree with you. I play ret paladin on this server and it s really nerfed, almost unplayable... I used to enjoy playing BG,but with ret,i m thinking i ll just reroll to some much better class that can do dmg or at least kill something! Here are some proofs about my very bad experiance :
BTW: If someone selling warrior or hunter, please contact me in game i would like to play class that i can really enjoy and not getting camped every BG. Thanks :)
Actually I do remember this quite vividly hahaha. Doing arena and running into double ret in 2s, triple ret in 3s, 5 rets in 5v5s. It was insane. Seemed like all of a sudden all the rets came swarming out of the woodwork
