1. The servers been around for years, getting gear isn't hard. People usually only donate for weapons and trinkets. Also you used to be able to get non-heroic ICC gear with vote points for like a whole year. Meanwhile you're asking a business to purposely not make money so this post is a waste of time. Also Vanilla wow was garbage and extremely unbalanced. 70% of the specs were next to useless in PvP.

  2. Even if donation for gear was eliminated which would hurt Warmane's ability to provide service- the fact that private servers never go into the next expansion would mean that there would still be players who obtained BiS pvp gear "naturally" and this problem would still exist. This is the nature of private servers and the newcomers just have to suffer through like everyone else until they grind enough to get their BiS items.

  3. Wtf is this ****. OP's name shows his state of mind lol. "Full of Fullness" morel like full of himself. This dude thinks that everyone joined the server at the same time he did and over 70% of the server population donated and went ahead of him. Bit ch , people here have farmed for months for that BIS trinkets you see players with. Around 10-20% people donated and got items.

  4. @FulOfFullness: Maybe you should try out Warmanes TBC-Server Outland; it is much younger and progress is still going on. Many people still leveling and gearing up. This would be a better place for you to start a new character.

  5. Blizzards vanilla realm(s) are at least 1.5 years away, and i believe when people start to play vanilla again on blizzards servers they soon realise that leveling and gearing is very hard, those people, full of nostalgia will look for private servers to play the easier but still nostalgic burning crusade or wrath of the lich king servers, should they look for a private server that offers both expansions and has the biggest playerbase they will come to warmane and we will be here to greet them :)

  6. after spending weeks leveling to 80.
    It.....took you weeks...to get to 80...on a 7x server?

Also, the vanilla server will be OP, don't be mad.
    Don't worry, we're all laughing.

  7. I agree.

    Shots anyone?
Omg no! forget class, or work, I'd never make it out of my house......

    Obituary would read...

    Deaths died today,
Cause of Death: Excessive alcohol poisoning. Unclear how he could drink himself to death in 3 days.....
I'd be playing a new game..... stay alive.

  8. This realm is 3 years old. It has nothing to do with P2W anymore, even people who didn't donate a single euro can have each of every single class fully BiS'd in such a long period of time including having Shadowmournes on their respective classes.

And no, I doubt anyone will leave for vanilla (or even if they do they'll stop after a few months) because vanilla is a complete trash of an expansion. It was "HORY SHEET" in 2004 when it was released, but the times have changed and that model for an MMO isn't exactly good.

  9. If the Devs do not find a way to balance Gear out now than everyone will leave to vanilla retail when it released
    Everybody will leave to vanilla??????
No, they will not, vanilla is the most archaic and old wow, with very boring quest, dungeons and pvp. There is good vanilla server with hight population, but if people don't left this server its because none want to play Vanilla but some nostalgic plebs.

Pretty much. People with good memories of vanilla will probably acknowledge that those memories were based on the fact that no other game was going to provide a similar experience.

Sure, never experienced a better world pvp in any game, for WoW that topic got worse with every addon.
Sure, vanilla had the most hardcore raids in wow ever, nothing came close to vanilla naxxramas. Sadly most today raiders never had the chance to experience these raids without private server bugs and nerfs.
Sure, a lot got better with every addon, but community was the best in vanilla for some real reasons and no fake memories.

Sitting in menethil harbor and wiping out peace for peace a whole alliance raid on their way to onyxia or wiping out groups in blackrock, managing to camp a tank for over an hour just a few meters away from zul gurup, yeah these memories are the best and every pvp experience later is just a joke.

  12. Pay to win as we call it, is introduced in games as way that you get bonuses/items from those that don't pay and therefore you are much stronger. As for here, every item you see players have, can be earned by either PvP or PvE which doesn't make it Pay to win, sure it is not fast to Bis out character as it is when you donate but everything can be done. As for leveling till 80 in weeks, lvl 80 can be done in one day if you know what to do, how and where (And have whole day time). But if you mean it as new players to WoW, in that case isn't the whole point of discovering the game and places? (Tho I doubt even then it takes that long ) besides there are many guides about leveling and if in real doubt can ask here on forums and will provide help.

  13. Lol. how about farming honor for furious gear, then do arena ,win or lose you get points, I have geared several fresh 80s in a week without buying gear.

  14. Sure, never experienced a better world pvp in any game, for WoW that topic got worse with every addon.
You mean like Mages and Rets one-shotting people, and Rogues being able to perma-CC?

Sure, vanilla had the most hardcore raids in wow ever, nothing came close to vanilla naxxramas. Sadly most today raiders never had the chance to experience these raids without private server bugs and nerfs.
Vanilla Naxxramas' difficulty doesn't compare to current raid content. It was difficult for the time because people were noobs, and for that same reason (getting a group of competent people), actually reaching the content was the hardest bit of it. Vanilla raid content, by today's standards, is not difficult even in the slightest. That's what happens when you have many players with over a decade's worth of experience, as opposed to just a year or two.

Sure, a lot got better with every addon, but community was the best in vanilla for some real reasons and no fake memories.
The community aspect of the game is, by far, the most important part of Vanilla. Much of which was retained by TBC and Wrath, until the dungeon finder happened anyway.

@P2W discussion, it's silly honestly. Especially in PvE, if you have a group of people you play with, like a guild or some such thing, it's ridiculously easy to get geared up. Group up with guildmates and grind dungeons for gear drops and emblems, then you can jump straight into ToC and then ICC10. Then before you know it, you're raiding ICC and VoA on regular intervals and then... boom, you have amazing PvE gear! Claiming it's Pay-to-Win is implying that your gear progression is somehow hindered because some people donate for gear. This is absolutely not true. Even the best of guilds are more than willing to pick up a player that isn't anywhere near BIS geared if they are competent. If you are competent and the guild you want to join is decent and is need of recruits, then it's a non-issue, and upon getting into such a guild, you then have access to the heroic 25-man gear. So I don't see the issue.

  15. I believe pay to win threads should also be added in the Icecrown forum drinking game.
    Duly noted.
