Opened a ticket regarding this, 3 times now.. Ticket was closed with no reply every time. So i'm posting it here.
Durnholde Thrall attunement quest, the fundamental quest for PVE in the entire expansion.. Doesn't work.
You NEED this quest to be attuned for Kara.
you NEED Kara to be SSC attuned.
You NEED SSC to be Hyjal attuned
You NEED Hyjal to be Black Temple attuned.
And the start of it all doesn't work.
I've heard and read everything under the sun.. from people that got attuned 5 months ago that it works fine. **** changes in 5 months, it doesn't work fine.
There's so much offputting about this server already, with gearscore and the general douchebaggery of the playerbase, but for real, when you CAN'T POSSIBLY GET ATTUNED it just leaves no reason at all to play.

Hi, sorry to see you frustrated.
How exactly are you trying to run the event?
As far as I know, you have to talk to Thrall when you're ready and then he mounts the horse. I am sure you know what you're doing but just in case, would you please explain here step by step how exactly you guys are running that quest?

Let thrall pull every group. Let him do all of the pulling. This should fix it, I had the same problem

We free him, he runs out, gets his armor etc. We clear the way to the first boss (We've tried it MULTIPLE times with me pulling, and with him pulling).. We kill the boss, then when you talk to him, and he's supposed to mount the horse and move to Tarren Mill, he just doesn't do anything. Just stands there, doing nothing, targetting nothing, you're unable to speak to him.
Clearing EVERY MOB in the instance doesn't work, including all sentries, all wildflie, even the "invisible" sentry that is sometimes underground. None of it works. He just refuses to move.
After typing this into global, and receiving what can only be described as a barrage of whispers of people telling me they also can't get attuned because of it... It's clear that this is a very common issue.
There's no answer to it anywhere, it's posted on the bug tracker months ago and hasn't been replied to.
I'm stuck of what to do.. You can't play the game at 70 without this escort working correctly.

Same thing happend to me there is no way to progress through this.

So before he gets on his horse there are 2 warrior type human guys that are patrolling the path. There is actually a 3rd human that gets stuck about 120 yards further on the path under the ground. In my experience thrall usually runs over there, you can tab target the guy under the ground and kill him with range. Then thrall runs all the way back and finally gets on the horse

This, the underground mobs are pretty common knowledge (Still a ridiculous thing to have to deal with, but manageable)...
Killing them now does nothing, Thrall refuses to move.

Trust me everybody trying to give hints, it is broken. Thrall will not mount his horse after second boss and just stands there idle.
I have done the dungeon up to this point 4 times.

Has someone in the past 24 hours actually completed OHF normal, AND completed the questl line? If so, can you please publish your actions on avoiding this bug? I’d like to know exactly what you did to get around it, so maybe I can replicate it and move on with my life... lol.
Very frustrated, the initial post on this thread is correct. The CoT questline is a bottleneck for every other attunement. This bug prevents new characters from completing this attunement.
Before you respond, this is not the same OHF bug that Thrall has had for months, where he runs ahead to attack the guards that are in the ground. This is something different. To be clear, after the second boss you talk to him and he does not move at all. The only solution I’ve found so far, is you can drag the guards in the road to him and have them kill him. (Note: you need 3-4 to kill him, otherwise he won’t die before they do. Thrall is a god damn Navy Seal. Rogue vanish or hunter feign death are the best methods, but in the end you can simply just die and run back if you have no other options) once Thrall dies you can talk to him again, and he will progress to the next waypoint in the storyline script, where you have to talk to him. He will bug out again. Rinse and repeat with guards killing and you can get to the last boss. So if you need gear from that boss you are in luck, there is a work around.
However if you need the quest, you’re still pretty screwed. Every time I’ve run this so far, Thrall bugs on the trash, we kill the trash, the boss spawns, we down the boss, and Thrall stays stuck. The post boss fight storyline is frozen and therefore “cannot fulfill his destiny” will not complete for the quest line.
Before you respond, I have tried letting Thrall die to the last trash, he just resets to the same spot he bugged in or it completely resets the encounter. (Seen both happen) I’ve attacked first and let him attack first, both have the same result. He bugs mid fight, runs to a random spot and is stuck there.
I have posted 3 trouble tickets, proposed multiple solutions, and posted it on the bug tracker. My response to the trouble ticket was “we cannot auto complete quests for you and if you are experiencing a bug submit it to the bug tracker for review from our development team.” The problem here is that Thrall bugged in OHF was first reported back in September and is still not fixed. So the “development team” can eat a dick. (As of this moment, they still have not responded to my bug report posted 24 hours ago...)
Solutions:
1. Take this seriously and fix the Thrall bug
2. Remove the BM attunement requirement
3. Remove the Kara attunement (even better)
(Both moves were made by Blizz once T4 was accessed by a majority of the player base and T6 became available. I think we can all agree Warmane has reached the same place)
Or auto complete the quest in the CoT storyline (this is the weakest solution to the problem, but still an option)
Any one of these will fix the larger issue. And I believe this bug has to be a high priority, because it’s not about being able to do a dungeon and collect some trash loot. It’s reaslly about the attunement process and character progression. That’s a critical failure or at least high priority. I’d accept a random mid week server restart to correct this issue. I’d challenge anyone that wouldn’t...
