The queue on Icecrown cant be used as a measurement for how populated a second realm would be since almost everyone who sees 1400+ don't even bother play that day.

a bowl holding 1 bowl of water cannot sustain the poweful benefits of 2 bowls of water held by 2 bowls.
in the best case scenario, the 2nd icecrown will also have 10k active players by next year, making it 22k players, we just need more room for it to grow...
or to mitigate the server lag. lol

I, for one, hopes this never happens, 2 servers with 8k people each is more, however the server would, over time become to feel like less. in turn the population would dwindle, and fade, when that happens, the 2 would be merged and back to where we are now, I don't care you have a hard time getting started, we all did.
Better that the population stays capped with people wanting to play on a well populated server then both fade to such a number that they are merged to be where we are now. exactly what people want, a good population.
