Burning Crusade Client loses preferences when closed

Hi all! I'm new here and I noticed whenever I close the game and re-open it I'm presented with the ToS and 'choose a realm' screen before I can log in. Once logged in, all my settings have been reset to default. I'm opening the game with Wow.exe.

Am I doing something wrong? How can I keep my settings and avoid the ToS screens at login?

follow these steps:
1) Restart your PC ( this is important in your case)
2) close your Torrent client and move your WoW folder away from your Torrent's download destination
3) now right click on WoW folder> Properties> remove "read-only".
