Why is it taking me so long to level up?

I've played for about 10 hours, and I have just reached level 12 with my troll mage. Am I missing something? I remember leveling being alot easier...

you are missing something, definitely.. if you just grind mobs 1-12 it shouldn't take you any longer than 3 - 4 hours to get there

10 hours, wow...what have you been doing man? in 10 hours you should be lvl 20 and ready to go out from starting zones+proffesions in that lvl. Maybe you travel too much and go back and forth? Try doing all the quests in an area before giving them back. Durotar and Barrens are large areas, don't roam around unless you have to and it's worth the travel would be my advice:-??. Again, not sure what you could do for 10 hours there.

Some classes have big downtimes compared to others. Until I got some gear on my priest, for instance, I had to take breaks often to eat/drink and be careful not to pull more than 1 mob.
