1. [H] Tenacious (NA, West Coast Guild)

Tenacious is a west-coast based guild led by players with considerable experience both here and on retail. While we're laid back, our aim is still to clear content and have a good time while doing it.

We have recently reformed (our core comes from Pixels and Brew). In that guild we were doing progress on T5, but due to several of our regular raiders becoming inactive we thought it would make the most sense to re-brand and start fresh. Our current goal is to spend 2/3 of our raid days focused on T4 and getting our newer raid members geared and attuned to T5 raids, with the remaining day open for possible T5 raids/pugs and/or possibly cleaning up any unfinished runs from earlier in the week.

We don't necessarily need players who are decked in T6, we just want players that want to raid and can log consistently and show up prepared. If you're new to the server, get your professions leveled up and get your baseline attunement quests done. Gear is fairly easy to come by if you know what you're doing and willing to put a bit of time and work in, so the main thing we want is players who are willing to do that.

You can apply HERE. If you have any questions about the recruitment process, contact an officer.

    Raid Schedule:

    Monday: T5
    Wednesday: T4
    Sunday: T4

The idea with saving T5 for Mondays is that we can potentially get more players attuned through the week. There may also be pop-up raids throughout the week.

    Guild management:

    Guild Master:
    Tankatronic

    Officers:
    Gimmicks
    Gelyria

    Boogersugar
    Aoetank
    Moardotz
    Chainheals
    Steadfast

    Guild Rules:
    • Recruitment: Recruits must apply via the application section on the website. Once accepted, they will be will join the guild as a tentative recruit status using a plus/minus system. Recruits earn a "+" for every raid they perform adequately. Once you earn three "+++" you are promoted to raider status. If you perform poorly you will earn a "-". Each "-" cancels out a "+" (the reverse is also true). If you earn three "---" you will be removed from the guild.
    • Loot is distributed by Loot Council for full guild runs. There are four factors that are taken into consideration: benefit to the guild, recent loot, degree of upgrade, and recent attendance.
    • You must have Omen or DTM, and either run a macro to fix your combat logs or use an addon to do the same thing. We also strongly recommend that you use some form of boss mod (such as BigWigs, DXE, or Deadly Boss Mods). We use Discord to communicate. You must use it. If your role requires you to communicate effectively (such as a tank) you must have a mic.
    • You must bring all appropriate consumables to a raid. Flask, food, potions, weapon buffs, etc. The only exception to this rule is for running low level raids such as Karazhan. Recruits who do not show up prepared automatically get "-".

    Regarding applications:
You can contact any officer whenever you want if you have any questions about guild, but in order to get into the guild, applications are necessary.

We know, filling out an application for a guild can seem lame. It is, however,
the first step in a relatively short vetting process.

New recruits to the guild begin by filling out an application, which lets us see if you know what you're about. If your spec is all jacked up, if you don't have any gems or enchants (or ones that don't make sense), or if you can't answer even the most basic questions about the boss fights were doing then maybe this isn't the guild for you. Keep in mind, this content is about a decade old, so it's easy to look up the answers to any questions you don't know.

If you want to learn more about your class check out the old EJ forums for a wealth of information. There are countless different videos or websites that can explain the mechanics of the various boss encounters to you also.

We're looking forward to playing with you and hope to see you in game soon!

  2. I thought instead of normal bumping, I'd add a bit of information for new players.

Once you get 70, one of the first things you'll want to do is get attuned to Karazhan. It's the entry level raid for this expanion (10 players). There is a small quest chain that you'll do outside the raid (located in the southern portion of Deadwind Pass). Once you do those, you'll eventually be sent to Shattrah and tasked with locating some keys.

The keys are obtained in three different dungeon. The first is at the very end of Shadow Labs (you can get it without killing the last boss if you're really careful). Once you have that one, you can get the other two an any order. One is in the water near the first boss of Steam Vaults. The other is halfway into Arcatraz (you'll either need flying or a warlock to summon you in). Once you have all them all, you'll need to to Black Morass and talk to the NPC after completing a run. To do Black Morass you need to do an escort quest and then Durnholde (where you save Thrall). Karazhan is the only T4 raid that requires an attunement. Gruul and Magtheridon do not.

With Black Morass completed, you can do Karazhan. If you have a group that can carry you in that raid, you can gear up really quickly depending on the drops, but otherwise you will want to get some regular and heroic dungeon loot. Crafted items are fantastic in TBC. In fact, many of the crafted items are better than any gear that you will get until you get into the later content of the game. Since they are available the moment you hit 70, they should definitely be a priority.

While you're working on Karazhan you can also get a jump start on your TK and BT attunement. There are two chains you want to do in Shadowmoon Valley. One is for Black Temple, which begins with your respective Aldor/Scryer faction (you pick this after an escort quest in Shattrath). The other is for TK and it begins in your A/H faction base in Shadowmoon Valley.

The TK quest chain you want is very long, and it culminates in two fairly tough group quests, Borak's Charge and Cipher of Damnation. It will take you at least an hour to complete the whole chain, perhaps more. Once you're done you'll be sent to do four heroics: Steamvaults, Shattered Halls, Shadow Labs, and Arcatraz. They're fairly challenging heroics, and SHH and Arc have special objectives you have to meet, beyond simply clearing them.

The BT chain will lead you to Akama in the Warden's Cage and you'll eventually be sent to Arcatraz to find Seer Udalo. Note that if you do the quest for the Arcatraz key, you can get that quest, the Seer Udalo quest, and the Trials of Naaru: Tenacity quests all completed at one go. You'd never need to do Arcatraz again.

Gaining entry to SSC is fairly straightforward. Get revered with CE, do Slave Pens on heroic, and get the quest from the NPC inside. You'll have to kill Gruul and Nightbane. Make sure you do this before you kill Gruul or Nightbane, so that you can progress quickly once you have it.

Once you've done your Trials of Naaru heroics (the ones that follow the Cipher of Damnation), you can do Magtheridon and you'll get a nifty title and be attuned to Tempest Keep. TK and SSC are the two T5 raids.

To continue with your Black Temple attunement, you'll need to talk to an NPC behind one of the bosses in SSC, Fathom Lord Karathress. Then you'll have to kill Alar dressed in a disguise (thought previously this quest auto-completed). Lastly, before you can gain entry to Black Temple you'll need to kill the first boss of Mount Hyjal.

Like SSC, MH has a very simple attunement chain. Simple, but not necessarily easy. You need to kill the last two bosses in both SSC and TK, Vashj and Kael'thas.

That's an overview of the attunement process you have to deal with during TBC. Later in the expansion, at least in retail, the removed the attuenment processes needed, so depending on when you read this the information may become irrelevant.

Let me know if I forgot anything. I skipped over easily soloable quests, such as charging BT with Akama after you kill Rage Winterchill.

  3. Still looking for more. We're doing Karazhan tomorrow to help gear up some of our fresher 70's.
