Burning Crusade Summon Water Elemental + Mount

Hi all,

Just hit 50 and got my long waited Water Elemental (Outland/TBC server). However, to my surprise I lose the pet and the 3 minute CD on the spell when I mount. Is this how it worked back in TBC or just a bug I should report?

This should be a bug.
the water elemental will stay by you on passive mode while you are mounted on a ground or flying mount. I haven't tested the speed of the pet, but it keeps up with you on ground no problem. However, as it can't fly and doesn't move nearly as fast as an epic flyer (again, haven't tested with a regular flyer), it can despawn if you go high/far enough. It will also despawn if you take a portal (such as the LFD insta-portal) or taxi, or get in a vehicle.
