1. Demonology Professions (PVE)

    Hi,

I've read that the min/max professions for demonology are Tailoring and Jewelcrafting. Since they both provide the most SP for demonic pact. But, I've never leveled Engineering, and it seems to provide some nice haste and utility. If I go for Engineering and Tailoring, how much SP loss could that mean for the demonic pact buff?

    Thanks

  2. Engineering and Alchemy

Alchemy is very practical with increased effect and duration of Flask. Which works good with Demonic Pact, compared to Tailoring back proc which is stronger, but it may or may not empower Demonic Pact if your pet doesnt crit or procs right before downtime and such.

And Engineering gives 27 spellower on Back in addition to all the imba tools.

  3. Interesting, in that case, JC and Engineering could also be a good combination.

  4. When appraising professions in terms of their contribution to the strength of your Demonic Pact, Eng leaves a lot to be desired. The reason for this is because the +340 haste proc replaces the +28 spellpower on gloves you'd otherwise have. Even with the +27 sp to Back enchant from Eng, it's still a net spellpower loss of 1sp. Tailoring can be pretty nice if your pet gets a crit off under the effect of the buff. I think Hellfire(rank 1) might've had a chance to proc it so you could have it up a bit before the fight even started. It was great for pre-stacking stuff like the Gunship trinket too.

  5. Going for tailoring + JC can provide a SP increase for my demonic pact between 4.8SP (just JC), and 34.3 (JC + Lightweave proc). How significant is a 4.8 increase in SP for other caster DPS or healers?

If I were to go for engineering, how significant would the haste be for personal dps, for example in the execution phase?

  6. how stats affect dps.

    1 point of :
Hit - 3.9232 dps - untill hit cap!
    Spell power - 2.1498 dps
    Spirit - 1.4138 dps
    Haste - 1.3641 dps
    Crit - 1.1953 dps
    Intelect - 0.6981

Engineering: Effectively 68 Haste and 12 Crit with movespeed boost and 27 SP with parachute: (Hyperspeed Accelerators) 340 Haste active with 20% uptime. This replaces the standard 28 SP enchant. (Nitro Boosts) 3 Minute CD movespeed boost along with 24 Crit rating. This replaces the standard 12 Crit rating 12 hit rating or 18 Spirit enchant. (Springy Arachnoweave) Parachute along with 27 SP cloak enchant. This replaces the standard 23 haste enchant.

    68 haste = 92.7588 dps
    24 crit = 28.6872 dps
    27 sp = 58.0446 dps
    total dps = 179.4906 dps

Since engineering replace few enchants we have to add them to this professions
    hands 28 sp = 60.1944 dps
    feets 12/12 = 14.3436 + 47.0784 = 61.422 dps
    feets 18 spirit = 25.4484 dps
    85.6428 dps hands and feet
we will take only 18 spirit into mind couse most of the times the hit is over the cap so the value is not correct.

Tailoring: Effectively 98 Spell Power: 295 SP proc for 15 seconds and a 50% proc chance, this equates to roughly a consistant +98 spell power assuming it procs right after the Internal Cooldown finishes (45 second ICD). This replaces the 23 haste enchant.
    98 sp = 210.6804 dps + feet and hands
    total dps = 296.3232 dps

Jewelcrafting: Effectively 48 Spell Power: 3 Dragons Eye Gems (39SP, 34 Crit, 34 Haste). Generally SP dragons eyes are taken. This equates to 48 Bonus SP compared to normal epic gems.

    48 sp = 103.1904 dps + feet and hands
    total dps = 188.8332 dps

Blacksmithing: Effectively 46 Spell Power: 2 bonus gem sockets, 1 on Wrists, 1 on Hands.

Enchanting: Effectively 46 Spell Power: 2 ring enchants (23×2)

    46 sp = 98.8908 dps + feet and hands
    total dps = 184.5336 dps

ps. and if you dont have tailoring as your 1st profession you can add normal enchant on back 23 haste to the numbers on every other professions thats 31.374 dps.

ps2. now there is a bit grey area you can time your haste use on hands with another procs like trinkets cds rings, on one hand this will lower average haste this buff provides but from another as we know buff stacking provide the best dps so ...

ps3. the more pure spell power you have will effect all spell power users, the more haste will give no additional support.

ps4. you need to watch on execute phase what are you doing to not lose dps using engineering haste at all.If you are under effect of BL and PI you dont use it because your cast it will be already under global. If you are under effect of BL + POT + Engineering hands you gonna lose value, because if you are close to bis you gonna push yourself under the global again.
