    3's bracket suggestion

"In order to promote activity in the 3v3 bracket and due to naturally low rating teams occupying top ten slots, players will only qualify for Gladiator titles if they're above 2 000 rating."

3v3 needs a lot of help, so this is a welcomed change. But you're gonna need a bit more to make people play 3's. From personal experience, it's either one team you're facing every game or (usually this is the case) no teams at all and you're stuck in queue for 30 minutes until you decide to give up.

I suggest rewarding players more points for 3's games or making WF gear obtainable with a bit less 3v3 rating (ex. make the WF head obtainable with 1700 in 3's instead of strictly 1950 in 2's). Some little changes that won't affect the PvP system too much, but might revive 3v3.

Even a pet vendor might work (I mean, you're giving out pets for Cow Darts, might as well put it as a 3v3 reward).

  2. You know what revive 3s? is by actually attracting Arena players. Tons and Tons of arena players gave up on this server and stopped playing because its simply faceroll server/expansion. Hpal/war is dominating 2v2 and with the use of hacks people got frustrated and moved away. The more you attract arena players, the more arena is going to be Active. There are a lot of people who would actually want to attempt playing 3v3 but there are simply no players to group up with.. Look at top teams in arena. Its either shatter or warriors. Playing vs shatter, dispelling is frustrating. You hardly dispell anything off of enemy or your partner; And, the server is bugged that you normally get polys behind pillars. Playing vs warriors, oh well, get ready to die in 10 secs if they swap you; And, the server is bugged that they hit you behind pillars. Arena is no longer a skill matchup, its about gear/RNG. Yea skill matters when you put 2.5k player vs 1.5k player but on equivalent skill level, its just RNG/gear /setup. Playing vs paladins also the same, you cannot dispell anything because of sacred cleanse.

The problem is, its not people not quing 3s.. people are actually not quing 2s either. Usually you get no ques in 2s at 1.9k or 2k mmr. OR you would be facing same couple teams. I think a nerf of everything to make arena playable will attract arena players again. Oh well, that will never happen. Goodnight.

WoW PvP was never only about skill, dont know why so many cry about that. Gear and Setup always played a very important role, that was never any different.
What is realy your problem? Not able to faceroll through badly geared enemys anymore?

Only thing that has to change is peoples mindset. If they would wipe the server, many would cry about those few who spent a lot of time and gear faster, demanding equal high end gear free for everyone. But actually people cry about the fact that BiS gear is the major thing, making it gear wise equal.

Truth is, people want to have the advantage of gear on their side. Equality in gear is not wanted, if so blackrock would be more popular. Many remember the good old time 10 years or longer ago, being in school, having time to spent 8 hours a day in wow and facerolling undergeared people. But now being on the less geared side, without the freetime of a school kid, its not that much of fun?

  4. Sorry, but that's so far from the truth it hurts. While Blackrock IS dead right now, you're rather ignoring the fact that Arena Tournament, which is what Blackrock is before it merged with Molten-WoW, was by far the most active pvp server out there back in it's prime. And guess what? Back when AT was highly competitive, you started at 1k rating and could buy gloves, legs, FULL off pieces along with trinkets, all at 1630 rating. Weapon at 1850 wasn't a big deal either since it only jumped from 258 to 264. So you effectively never MASSIVELY outgeared opponents. You had a very slight edge, but it never felt oppressive.

So no. People don't necessarily huge gear advantage. As a matter of fact, no one that wants PvP to truly be competitive and balanced wants significant gear advantage, sadly gear progression has to still be a concept otherwise there would be little to no incencitive to do arenas outside of custom prizes like Transmog.

While there's probably multiple reasons as to why arenas are dead on Icecrown, the first reason that comes to mind is that Icecrown shot themselves in the foot by autorizing ALL gear in arenas. Shadowmourne simply doesn't belong in arenas, even on equal footing. In a meta where burst is so insane you have to effectively play 4 seconds into the future to avoid getting globalled, you simply cannot afford to autorize a weapon that increases both DPS and Burst to the extend Shadowmourne does. It doesn't help the RS trinkets and 277+ off pieces are autorized, further screwing the balance over by pushing Warr's ARP near the hard cap and by pushing casters above 1k haste. Castercleaves were already ******ed, and now they're even more so. Warrs are brainlessly oppressive when played decently, and completely broken when played properly.

I played arenas up to 2300 on several classes back when AT was active and honestly, I don't touch Icecrown arenas with a 10 foot pole.
