Technical Full Screen mode WotLK wont go above 720p resolution

As title says.

I clicked windowed, and was able to get the resolution up to 3440/1440 with the borderless windowed option, then could restore it back to fullscreen without any issues. however if I tried to do changes while it was still fullscreen, it would go back down to 1028/720.

Sure, I could do it every time I log in, but that is super annoying.

Secondly every time I log in it has forgotten that I have ever opened the game before.

It has the copyright agreements and everything is back to the original settings.

So everytime I want to play WotLK servers I have to go through a process, to make it work and frankly it is annoying.



Any solutions/tips/tricks would be awesome, Thanks!

Remove read only from the wow folder and it'll save your settings then.

Uncheck read-only from your wotlk folder.

It has full permissions, that is not the problem.

I just had the same problem and it was due to the fact that the old WoW isn't compatible to Windows 10.

Use Windows 7 compatibility and the problem will be solved :)
