WotLK ninja looting

Hello, I'm new to this server but I've heard of ninja looting already .

I play a paladin and I rolled a ring with defense stats on it, stamina and strength and I was called out a ninja.

In my understanding this ring is also considered a PVP ring since it gives a defense rating and if you play two specs you have a full right to roll this ring right? I understand if I was a warrior and rolled a plate gear with intellect stats on it , then it would totally be "ninja looting".

Anyways let me know if you have a strict policy on the case I just described with the ring, so I know for the future that I can or can't roll such items, thank you .

depends on the loot rules. if you were doing a rdf you roll for the spec your playing. if you were a dps pally and rolled for a defense ring you could very well be reported for it.

in raids it's a different story as raid leader makes the loot rules.
