WotLK Hunter Pet Disappearing

I've had the issue for a while where my Hunter pet will disappear and be replaced by a stabled pet, either after death or after reclogging. To get the original pet back, you would have to visit the stable and move the currently active pet into an open slot. It was essentially sitting over the other pet's slot.

This time I had a pet completely vanish. My main pet (a Devilsaur) was overlapped by a Warp Stalker I had been using as a PvE tank. The third pet was a Core Hound. To make it worse, it was The Kurken tamed as a Horde player which requires getting to Azuremyst Isle. He has disappeared and no trick of swapping pets seems to get him back.

Hunter Pet bugs really need to be fixed because this makes having more than one pet nearly impossible.

I have logged in today to find 2/3 of my pets are missing.

I used the Call Pet command today to swap pets. When I logged back on the one I had swapped to was completely gone and the one I had at first was back as my pet.
