It wasn't un playable from the PVP Side it was awesome, I remember when the server had 2000 or more players and the PVP scene was great, there were many good guilds to play against, ya some quest bugs and instances were a bit buggy but not all completely un playable there were a few ways to work around some of the bugs.
    even for pvp there were bugs. they weren't game breaking, but you had to work around it.

    for example:

    smokebombs didnt break stealths or spirit links
    flares worked through bridges in blade edge arena
    if you incapacitate on sacred shield, it wouldnt break on damage
    aoe trinkets/weapons (rathrak/cunning) would trigger on buffs and break people out of stealth from 40 yards away
    some hunter pets were way overscaled, being able to solo players with ful BiS gear (pvp or pve)
    stam stacked blood dk's (with pvp gear) having 210k health and spamming death strike because it did 40k dmg + 50-60k healing, each hit.
    being able to use 2 pvp badges at the same time if u used a macro

    anyone remember the Hunter Black Arrow bug? spammable no cooldown black arrow which hit for 20k.


    and these are just off the top of my head. there were way more which ruined the high end pvp gameplay.
    that's why Nelth has been such a pve fest over the last 2 years. people just gave up.
