1. Low FPS on an almost high end system

Hello, wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how to fix it.
So while playing WOTLK, my framerate can jump up to 75, but it rarely does so, 95% of the time, it stays at 30, and even drops down to 15, and on rare occasions to 5 fps.
Back when playing cata, I always had my fps locked on 75 (refresh rate of my monitor) and I had no problems, I play Crysis 3 on this PC with high settings at 75-90 fps, I have Ryzen 5 1600x and nvidia geforce gtx 1050 Ti , so I really do not understand why I would have such a low fps when playing wotlk, needless to say, I play it on ultra settings, and lowering the setting to minimum only gets me about 5 fps more, all my drivers are up to date, and I am using Windows 10 LTSB.

  2. WOTLK has the old engine and doesnt use more than 2 cores of the cpu.

  3. WOTLK has the old engine and doesnt use more than 2 cores of the cpu.
I tried opening Task Manager, going into details, and setting the affinity of WOTLK to only 2 cores, it did not help, only lowered the fps even more.
Both the temperature of the graphics card and the CPU is at 70 degrees, witch is the same as when playing Crysis 3 or Witcher 3, so it really seems like its struggling to maintain that poor fps in WOTLK

  4. What FPS do you guys have playing WOTLK, and what is your spec?

  5. There's a solution in this thread that might work:

Incase anyone else has this problem in the future:
Go into your World of Warcraft/WTF folder and open Config.wtf
Make sure maxFPS is set to 0, like this:
    SET maxFPS "0"

I'm now getting ~250 fps average instead of 150 :)

  8. How the hell is that "almost high end system" ?

1050ti is a low end graphic card and Ryzen 1600x is mid range CPU ..

That PC is miles away from high end ..

But still you shouldn't get less than 30 fps for sure ..

Obviously not, if a low maximum was set, than it wouldn't oscillate between 5 and 75, but instead remain locked on that maxFPS that is set. And 150 is not a low fps, it is more than a 144Hz monitor can even display, and I have a 75Hz monitor. So that is nonsense.

  10. i dont see this line anywhere on my config.wtf SET maxFPS "0"

It is high end for me, comparing it to my old PC witch had I don't know what PHENOM processor and what ****ty graphics card, and I had stable 40-60FPS in Cata with it, with everything on ultra. So with that in mind, the numbers here don't make sense...

  12. I found what the problem was, the answer is too simple... Addons were conflicting, Carbonite and Button forge for some reason don't go well together on my system, I'm guessing not everyone would have such a problem with them, anyway, if I turn off one of them, does not matter witch one, I get 160FPS

    What?

Its a ISS for the god damn wotlk wow game! It should run with 999 fps, not droping below 60fps

Dude read a recommended specs for wotlk.

    Its just old engine.

And its not different in BFA, but they optimised dx12 for 8.1 patch which is comming soon
