1. Fire vs Frost PvE

What is the stronger option for PvE? I'm currently 1925 gs.

    I'm talking about TBC.

  2. Generally on retail and most of free servers Fire outperforms Frost when reaching lvl 70 epic gear. (so lets say 2300gs+)

Sadly, on this server there is bug somewhere in Fire spec making Frost superior to it. (it is probably something about Ignite resists)

There is possibility that Fire and Frost goes even if you are Sunwell geared (3600gs+) but you can definitelly achieve better dps permormance all the way up to that breaking point with Frost (+ you have higher survivability).

Nevertheless, to make the list complete .. if you reach 2 pieces of T5, your gear supports you with enought intel and you have decent raid setup, you should be able to get best dps output with Arcane.

  3. Frost is a binary spell and can only be 100% resisted or 0%.

Fireball is not and can have different amounts of resists 0, 25, 50, 75, 100. Because bosses have some unmitigatable resistance, you will see partial resists on fire.

All historic data surrounding this proves the warmane model to be correct but it feels incorrect/wrong when you crit fireball (or shadowbolt) for like 1.5k

  4. What you say is just basics about spell mechanics.
As much as there might be a correct setup for single parts of the model there has to be some hidden issue in overall fire spec behaviour.

On retail servers in TBC era in terms of dmg output with decent gear it was clearly:
    Fire > Arcane > Frost
with some specific gearing and group setups you could achieve Fire = Arcane > Frost

On the other hand on Warmane it goes:
    Arcane > Frost > Fire

This is based on many hours of testing with tens of millions dmg done while taking different conditions into account and simple observation of specs performance in raids aswell.

Just to cover everything: Even on retail Blizzard announced bug with double dipping for Ignite (partial resist roll for Ignite after first spell was already partially resisted) that was never fixed. And even with this bug Fire was still superior raid dps spec.
