WotLK New warlock with questions

Looking to create a warlock on Icecrown and have a few questions.

1. I read that there have been issues with pets/minions scaling. Has this been fixed? If not, then this would seem to be problematic for demo. Any other bugs affecting warlock I should know about?

2. For dps min/max, would you suggest orc or gnome? I understand blood fury only scales with level, while expansive mind is a flat 5% increase in intellect. If 1 int = 1 SP, then I would think at high levels gnome does better (not considering the orc bonus to bet damage, though point (1) above).

3. All the Warmane servers are PVP, and I am looking to PVE mainly. Can I toggle off PVP when questing/exploring open world content?

1. It's not a big problem, it should not affect you.

2. Orc, the pet buff plus Blood Fury

3. You cannot disable world PvP.

I am a bit surprised by your statement that pet scaling is not an issue as I have read guides suggesting to avoid use of pet talents, like demonic empowerment, which should be staples in PVE.

Also, if I cannot toggle PVP, how difficult should I expect it to be in the open world? Is ganking players who are trying to quest in the open world rampant?

Intellect doesn't convert to Spellpower in this expansion.

Pets are fine.
