I'm not aware of what the reason was for now deleted characters to remain "stored" for 30 days, but it isn't a bug or something accidental. This was an intentional change. While players can give feedback - which we already are aware of - "undo an intentional change" doesn't qualifies as a valid suggestion.
Personally, as I believe names are meant to be used, not "reserved" - or sold - whether it was the intention or a side-effect, curbing the creation of characters that aren't meant to be used just for the sake of holding a name is already a positive result. Yes, people can say on Blizzard you can do it, and delete and create new characters with the same name at will et al, but on there you also need to buy the game, expansions and pay a monthly fee per account, while here people can create dozen of free accounts and hog dozens or hundreds of names.
