"World server down"

Lately I've been getting this quite often, what does it mean and why does it occur?

When I try to enter on some of my chars it starts to load, loads fully and then just sits at fully loaded. My friends see that I am online but I cant get ingame...

After ensuring that you are using the correct version of the client (5.4.8 for MoP), try this:


1. Exit WoW
2. Open (WoW program folder)\WTF\Accounts
3. Rename the folder that has the name of the account that doesn't work for you
4. Restart WoW, and see if you can log in now


If it didn't help, remove the newly created folder having your account name, and rename the previous version back (otherwise you'd lose your addon settings).

If it did help, you may want to copy (WoW program folder)\WTF\Accounts\accountname\SavedVariables from the renamed version to the newly created one, to restore most of your addon settings.

If it didn't work, then you could try the same procedure on (WoW program folder)\Cache
