1. I almost left the game, because of the level of gank I encountered and suffered during my leveling phase 70-80 in Sholazar basin. I was so angry and annoyed, got camped 5-10 times in a row, even when I res at the cemetery they would find and kill my noob a$$.

It's a pvp server. Part of the lore. Horde vs Alliance, we're enemies in this story.

I had *some* nice encounters with horde, I must admit. There was an occasional wave and a little bit of fishing together in WG. But most of the time, I gank. And I gank hard. I kill those hordies that just hit 80 or soon will. I fly around on my bronze drake above sholazar main questing spot, and I pick my targets. I don't mind when 10 hordies show up to protect their young ones, and eventually kill me. In fact I enjoy it, and I smile so much while playing that game.

This is an amazing game. Nothing comes easy in life, and this game is x7. Don't be frustrated if you die a couple of times. Wave your ganker and he'll probably leave you alone. If not, there is always another area to explore. If nothing else comes out of it, you might group with other players to defend yourselves, and maybe even get to know eachother better. This is a massive multiplayer game, no reason to solo the whole way through it.

    Cheers.

  2. How else are you going to get good at the game?

This is how RPG should be and this is what make it so enjoyable. While leveling you are weak, stronger players can kill you while you cant do anything about it. You get angry and think to yourself "I will pay you back later on". With time you grow up, become stronger and stronger till you become to strong one who can kill the weaker one and its finally payback time. Yes it is very enjoyable and fun.

Also as you said this is high exp rate server hitting 80 takes just few days while after you hit 80 you will potentiality spend years playing. The first few days been ganked really is very insignificant issue.

So you don't touch the guy that ganked you but instead you "return the favor" by ganking other faction lowbies? Wtf is with that logic!?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for ganking as long its against someone your level. I just don't understand the point of killing lowbies while they are grinding quests, and in some extreme nujtob cases, corpse camping them.

  5. So you don't touch the guy that ganked you but instead you "return the favor" by ganking other faction lowbies? Wtf is with that logic!?
Think of it as most gankers are either fresh 80's looking for "revenge" as they still weak and can't take eye for an eye yet and perhaps they will never be able to do, so ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶l̶ ̶l̶i̶f̶e̶ they became the bullies to the new generations... or, on the other wing, well geared guys in BiS looking for ways of spending their time, as they have near to nothing to do with their ̶l̶i̶f̶e̶ main characters.

Well, I'm all against ganking, even on 80's, it's pointless unless you're desperate enough to get ez killz, it's not even a proof of skill, and as you get used to it, is not even amusing. It doesn't even mean you're getting the kill, as most gankers are not even that skilled to even know the exit WG thing, not to mention weapon/rod macros or even relying on numbers as in most cases. I'm not a great fan of WPVP, to me it is nothing but pure autism, you get rekt, you kill them back, they call for help, so you do... and so on... and ganking involves wpvp, which means more autism...

How else are you going to get good at the game?
you mean power leveling and grinding honor+votepoints to get enough resi so you can resist more than two hits from the better geared gankers? Ah yes, that's skill :^)

Shocking logic right? Almost sound like someone who have suffer from group of people and later on he strongly dislike this group of people.....i wonder did that ever happen in IRL hmmm.

Well i know its very shocking to some people to find that other people have fun in different ways. Lucky for us tho you don't have to understand why people like different things, you just have to accept that some players have fun doing it and move on.

Yeah and we don't tolerate it irl. Bad comparison.

And yes I know its a game but I still find it fascinating people actively chasing lowbies despite the fact that opposing faction ganked them. You are really missing solid amount of content if you go into ground mounts zones only to chase lowbies.

So using one ability/melee swing to kill someone is fun? You sound like those guys that think "pull my finger" jokes are funny.

Ok, now you've gone to the other side of autistic spectrum...
No its proof that you should watch your back if you are in a contested zone. Especially when I kill a guy that has over 6kgs just because he is not paying any attention to his surroundings.
I know a lot of SM ******ins that are gainking questing areas are braindead but I wouldn't call it easy kill in any sense of the word. Sometimes they last till my fear comes back from CD :)

  8. So using one ability/melee swing to kill someone is fun? You sound like those guys that think "pull my finger" jokes are funny.
Jeeze talking to people like you is so boring. You ask why people do something, multiple people give you their reasons why and then you say " nahh you have fun the wrong way. You must be like me and play and have fun how i have fun, things you like are stupid". And because you cant put any real arguments against why people should not play they way they wannna play their own characters you start calling them names "you must be one of this guys, bla bla bla". Or " you must be psychopath".... like **** off dude.

  9. I'm just gonna add this here, because why not? school shooters share alot of the mentality that most gankers share. You get bullied, you get a mental breakdown, and you shoot everybody, instead of going back after that ONE person.

Your reason on why is something like this is fun are: "because it is fun" or because of PTSD.
I didn't put any counter argument because I already did it so many times and all I got throughout the years was something like this:
"Dude you don't understand the thrill of killing opposing lowbies in one shot. It makes my e-peen feel so good".
Ofc I'm paraphrasing but that is usually the point o the **** they write. After such answers I really don't want to anything but troll them. Just like poor ol' Butkus in DK's are OP whine thread :)

  11. It's actually amusing seeing the discussion over pvp, this has been a thing for pvp servers for years, but these servers are designed around pve. That's why the npc's don't have a fast respawn rate. They have the same rate as a pve server which kind of begs the question, why is pvp forced in zones when the zones don't have troops to support it? Having a town held hostage by capped levels and no guards show up to try to stop them is a bad joke in itself, being camped is 1 thing but to not even be able to quest in said zones because all these big guys keep killing you and everything else is just bad management. I highly doubt the people in charge actually played on a pvp server since the timers aren't done properly, while I don't mind the ganking being camped to the point you can't quest and have to leave the game until that person leaves is just terrible. The quest bases should be protected by the guards, instead they're not even flagged pvp, I see guards all over the place with no pvp to cover for the higher levels holding the zone hostage. So far the worst place I've visited as a lowbee was gromgol, I see a lot of alliances questing there and it's amusing to see them questing in droves. Then they have escorts to go with that a level 80 trailing behind like it's a presidential duty lol. So not only do you now have nowhere to quest you also can't run if the dude decides to take you out even though you'd probably get killed in a 1v1 with the lowbee. This server doesn't actually feel like it has a stable leveling zone because of all this, seriously a level 80 escort in leveling zones under 50 lol...

  12. .

    uhm no... what?
    I was Refering to @coffeemaniac.
I'm talking about awareness, watch out for enemy players, I leveled 20+ toons on Icecrown and I NEVER had a problem, I leveled in the usual zones too, yes there were a lot of 80's but you don't just walk right up in their face do you???
They killed your questgiver? Fine, skip it and do something else.
They corpse camp you? Take the Ress sickness at the spirit guardian and move on with it.
I have been killed 5 times in a row trying to get to the quest giver inside a house guarded by 80's, It's Fine, you will get there eventually.

These people shouldn't get to you.

seriously a level 80 escort in leveling zones under 50 lol...
90% of the times it's that same guy on another account with his lvl 80.

  13. The most that I do is fly around in Outlands on my level 80 DK. (It isn't fully geared or well geared) and I'll either kill Alliance players, or keep an eye on fellow horde players (especially rogues/druids) and let them know there is a 80 ganking people if I see it so they end up stealthing immediately. Then if I see a level 80 alliance attacking a level 60 or so, I'll step in to get them off it for the lowbie to get away. Despite being like 4.5k on my GS (or around there) I have almost killed level 80s that were a higher GS than me. As long as I get their attention on me for a few minutes, I'm satisfied (sides some of the fights are pretty fun).

Though on my level 60 warlock or so, I fended off a level 80 by fearing it multiple times. It wasn't geared and my level 60 was in some raid gear and the guards ended up killing them twice, when I was just trying to craft some stuff quickly. Was rather hilarious.

On my DK when I was leveling it, a Alliance DK attacked me and I smashed their faces in. Then they kept coming back for more and I kept killing them. I then logged an alliance character to tell them to stop attacking me and I won't kill them. (I play on both factions). Fun fact, they stopped attacking me.

  14. So you were not one shotted as a lvl 60 and you somehow managed to hit consecutive fears on someone 20 levels above you, who was then killed by guards that can barely kill someone who is level 70.

Romz what happened when you woke up? Did it feel nice that you are at least not molested by big bad alliance in your sleep?

It only took 2 fears to get them killed. Honestly, I think they were a fresh 80. And since I had some of the vanilla raid gear (non set pieces), I was not as squishy as other level 60s. Which honestly saved me. (I had to spam the fears mind you since they kept failing.)
