It's been a long while since I've visited Azeroth. The last time I played was the original TBC release as well as a period of the MoP expansion. I never experienced true Vanilla, Cata, Wotlk, etc. So here I am discovering the private server scene. I choose Warmane Icecrown because of the big population and better exp rates since my play time is limited. I wanted to be a warrior troll because I never played a warrior and the troll is my favorite race, so I'm sticking with it.
With that said, I did donate $10 to skip the que. Honestly I didn't even check if there was a que, I just read about it and paid it. I don't mind donating $10 anyway for a game I'm about to get a lot of enjoyment out of. I also bought the 2h heirloom axe with 6 coins just so I would always have a scaling weapon while leveling since I figured that would be a huge pain point for me during the leveling phase.
I have a couple of questions:
-Is there a good key bind addon anyone can recommend? I remember using something like BindPad in Vanilla.
-Once I hit max level, how can I start to gear up without paying anything -- raids excluded -- so I can play in BGs?
-Any recommended must have warrior addons?
-Should I level specific professions?
-Also if anyone could point me to a sort of progression guide or give me a layout of where I should go and when.. that would be amazing
Axe was great idea! Weapon will really help a lot. Especialy if thise is your first toon on this realm. So is queue skip. As for your questions:
-- I personally use ElvUI addons they take care of ton of things - including keybinds with easy /kb
-- FoS + PoS + HoR spaming normal+hc, gathering professions for gold farming and then buying BoE ilvl 264 from AH will easy get you to 5.2k+ GS
-- Hehe I would go ElvUI :D + all ElvUI extras, TellMeWhen is good too and then really depends on you
-- If you mean for leveling just spam quests 7x rates are insane for instance I usually end up 80 in less then 2-3 days /played forget doing Dungeons unless you have all quests for them is not worth the time
Honestly main thing to do when playing Warrior is to have right macros. You need them for everything. I have about 20+ of them for my Arms Warrior. Unless you prefer Stance Dancing manually and are multitasking God of course ;)
Good Luck and I find you soon in Arena / BG with my little Gnome Murderer! You better be ready!
And as for professions take 2 gathering professions to make money for skills and bags and everything else later on on 80. Once you settled nicely on 5.2k+ GS and about 5-8k Gold you can switch one for BS or JWC or ENG if you fancy. Then gather 5-8k more Gold and switch the other too. GL
Oh one last thing - if you rethink your decission to play Horde / Troll and wanna come play Gnome Master Race - with Escape Artist (definitely best PvP Warrior (meele dps) racial in the game :D making Mages, Hunters, DKs and Druids cry) hit me up in game and you are invited to join our Guild! Dragon Lords! We already have too many Warrior wannabes, but there is never enough Dragon Sons & Dragon Hunters around pursuing our cause! :D You will definitelly find a lot of Warriors to talk to in our Team!
If you decide not to get Elvui (even though its great) You must get the Snowfall Keypress.
It activates your abilities when you push your key instead of when you release it, Elvui has this built in along with many other things.
As a profession for a DPS warrior I would suggest JC and BS, Since BS gives 2 extra slots = 2 arp gems, and JC gets bigger arp gems, this all comes down to a lot of extra arp, which is the stat you want.
If you are a PVP person though you must have Engineering.
