WotLK Do you keep your character name if you do a faction change?

Hey Im considering a faction change but really dont want to lose my characters name in the selection screen.
Ive attempted to create characters to reserve name but when i deleted them the name remains taken..

Is it a similar situation when I do a faction change or will I get to keep my name?

Everything is kept when you faction change, just faction specific items are converted to the other versions.
