Graphics settings not saving

I've recently downloaded the client posted on this website and an issue I am having is that no matter what I try to do (including running as administrator, manually editing files etc) none of my graphics options save, it constantly keeps running at 1024x768 in fullscreen mode with all the settings at minimum, I have a rig that can run this game at maximum
I7 - 6700
NVIDIA GTX 1080 TI
32 GB of RAM
3 TB of hard drive space (1 TB of it free)
so I have no idea why it won't save properly, anyone seen this before and know of a fix?

That is due you to your World of Warcraft folder being read-only, specifically WTF\ folder.
To solve this: Right click on WTF\ folder -> properties -> remove read-only property. Next time you close your client your settings will be saved.
