People with high GS doing heroics, why?

Why are people with 3k and higher doing heroics? They got full SWP gear and still farm badges?

Badges which can be turned into nethers, for example, and thus gold.

or perhaps they just want to play the game?

Gems, badges, gold, quests, reputations... For multiple reasons; However, isn't that something good?

All the reasons mentioned above or:
-testing out their new gear
-testing out a new specc
-just bought the char and try to get into it
-boost a friend
-being depressed and having to show off a bit
