Basically you queue up as 2 dps, you're on discord or some other form of voicemessaging and you'll have an instant advantage over a team of 3 players who queued solo and wont be able to communicate as swift. Just met such a team and they coordinate much easier, switch targets much easier.
This option beats the entire purpose of the solo queue mechanic..
It requires a 80 % winrate just to stay at your current rating.
When you DuoQ, you lose 2x normal and gain 1/2 normal points. This is the how they balance it.
Assume the base rating gained is 12. If you're DuoQ, you would win 6 instead, or lose 24.
With 4 wins you've gained 24 rating, and a 4-1 score would result in +0.
These numbers also apply to the opposing team, but vice versa.

Also, even if you queu as Solo, if your team-mates are both Duo'ing, you will be counted as duo and lose -24 / win +6.
