1. Question about fresh 80s

Would a fresh 80 be able to do any raids on Lordaeron besides VOA , TOC and ICC? for example older raids like NAXX or Ulduar, EoE or Sartharion.

Or is Lordaeron a strictly ICC realm?

    Thanks

  2. I see quite a few ToC raids weekly. You can always host your own, I assure you people do join. OS is not usually run as it drops too low gear. You have to think PoS/FoS/HoR HC drop 323 ilvl gear, so any raid under that is not really worth beside going for achivements. Oh, and Onyxia is also weekly run.

  3. Naxx is VERY rarey played, while you might catch an Ulduar once a week happening because guilds are farming it for shards. Your best bet is just farming ICC dungeons for better gear and then keep running ToC.

  4. So what exactly is the PVE progression route for a fresh 80?

Heroic dungeons - > ICC dungeons (which if I remember have to be unlocked first?) - > TOC - > ICC heroic dungeons - > ICC 10 ?

  5. A bit of RDF Hc until you get atleast decent gs (say 4k) -> farm FoS/PoS/HoR normal for gear and EoT -> start FoS/PoS/HoR HC daily clear -> ToC10/VoA10 -> ICC10/RS10 -> ICC25/RS25

While you're doing all of this parellelly buy EoT + EoF gear that you can (do aim to buy pieces you won't soon replace head/shoulders/chest for example since you can get gloves and legs from VoA).
Don't forget to run icc rep farm at weekly raid reset to get exalted Ashen Verdict ring which is BiS for most classes.
Also yes, you need to do the questline to unlock icc dungeons. On a side note, do try and get trinks from ToC5 man dungeon, they're pretty decent.

Also Onyxia 10/25, fairly sure you'll get invited as 4.5k gs if the leader is not a complete ******.

  6. Here is my personal progression in PvE WotLK content:

    1. When you reach level 80, do RDF normal and look for FoS/PoS/HoR normal runs (they can be very easily unlocked by finishing a few quests). Also keep an eye out for any ToC5 trinket farm and ICC10/25 rep farm to get your ilvl277 ring. Also look on the Auction House for any ICC trash drop gear, it's usually really cheap and good until you actually start doing raids.

    2. When you get a bit of gear, money and emblems, try to get some craftable items, if you have enough EoTs, buy some t9 gear from the vendors.

    3. Do more RDF HC and daily FoS/PoS/HoR HC runs and weekly VoA runs. They award better gear and you get a chance to get an ilvl251 weapon as a quest drop from these dungeons. If you need a piece of gear and can't replace a bad one you currently have, maybe do some PvP for some Wrathful Off-set pieces, but try to not have more than 2 if you want to focus on PvE. Also, keep an eye out for raids such as Ulduar25, it awards decent gear for the level, and you will most likely get a spot in the group, since Ulduar is mostly run by guilds farming Val'anyr, and they usually struggle with making a group anyway.

    4. Once you farm this for a few days/weeks, you will most likely be 5.4k gs+, so start looking at ToC10/25 and try to get into a small raiding guild to step into ICC. Once you start doing ICC, gear will come naturally and fast.

    5. Kill ICC 12/12 25 Heroic and quit the game. Good luck.

P.S.: EoT = Emblem of Triumph - it's the emblems you get when killing bosses from every raid tier other than ICC and bosses in FoS/PoS/HoR, and Toravon in VoA25. You should get them pretty fast, but it's quite a grind since you need quite alot of them for buying gear.
EoF = Emblem of Frost - the emblems you get from doing ICC and RS, and they are a rewards from doing a daily RDF HC.
There are some other sources for the emblems, but these are the main ones.

  7. What exactly is EoT and EoF?
Emblem of Triumph and Emblem of Frost
