WotLK Character Restoration and Rename

Hello Community, how are you?

Well, as the title suggests, i have a question regarding the restoration system. I understand its rules (can be restore up to 30 days after it was deleted, you pay no fee when you restore 24h after deletition, can be done once a week).

Now, what i want to know is if its normal to rename your character when you restore him.

I've a friend who the char got deleted and when he restored he had to rename his char. Does this rename thing always happens or was it a special case?

No, it's an exception if someone took your name. But that's an old bug, now you can't take a deleted name for 30 days.
Before you could delete, make a new character with deleted name and restore it for a free rename, now that's fixed.
