Technical WOW WOTLK - Windowed Mode

When I try and run the game in Windowed Mode it does not work, instead the program displays nothing to the screen, the game is still running in the background because I can hear the menu music. The only way I can close out the program is by ALT+F4. What can I do to fix this.
I have tried running the game as administrator but that has no effect on the problem, I've also tried re-downloading the game and different versions of the WOTLK client including the Wod Models version.
Any help would be appreciated.
