Faction for pvp ally or horde ?

So I see many posts saying ally is totally winning and dominating all pvp and battlegrounds. Is that really so on Icecrown ? Since on both retail and classic wow horde is by far winning most battlegrounds.

The short answer is: Yes.

Long answer: Depends on time of day.

Even longer answer: Horde are more confident during the evening hours of 8PM PST.

Can I then as horde do mercenary mode to ally side ? And if I do will I be random ally race with random armor or my own actual armor ?

alliance is more pvp and xenophobic, horde is more pve in this server and kind, always salute and dont hit from behind.

Some statistics as a horde:
2492 battlegrounds played
1255 battlegrounds won
thats around 50% of wins, about 99% of battlegrounds played without premade, so it's clear evidence that alliance are not dominating :D

Most loses(nearly 40% of all) are on WSG, cause many alliance guilds search for easy wins with premade on the smallest battleground.
