    Lag/dc whenever I open my character/gear selection in-game.

    I have the problem that I get a dc/Lag whenever I open my character/gear selection.
    Can someone help or explain this ?

    try to disable all of your addon

    Like he said, disable addons. Then try to find out what addon is causing the problem by turning them one by one back on
