How is Heigan the Unclean even doable?

The range on his casting debuff is 30 yards. So is the range of most spells, and going on the platform does not remove the debuff...
As a mage I COULD spec into those extra 3-6 yards of range, but what about the healers?

I did Heigan a couple of times with my guild (both healing with a priest a dpsing with a mage) and never had an issue with the distance. Sure, if I stand too close to the edge of the platform or the tank pulls him forward in zone 1 or 4 i could see myself eating ths debuff. Otherwise max range works fine for most spells of my priest (i believe 40 yards is the distance of penance). Shaman/Paladin healers also healed without any problem.
