WotLK Deathwing character gone?

Apparently Deathwing is no more and my hunter is gone is there any way to get him back? Just came back to the game and no character on wotlk at all :(

You weren't online when you could've gotten a free 80 toon so now you'll get nothing. Cata realm was shut down and your character was saved in case Cata gets rereleased. Was Deathing Cata even did I mix something up?

No, i did get all 5 free 80's but i only played on one, my hunter, and it was wrath, i still have the market purchase history, apparently Deathing merged with another server, but none of the characters tramsfered over :(

They could've been deleted due to inactivity. Assuming you checked in-game first, check my account>services>character restoration. If they're not there then they're gone for good.
