So I suggest that the total number of characters on a premium account be able to go past 10. My suggestion is to either make this a purchaseable thing on the website or make it automatic after people become premium.
Total limit: 20 instead.

It is world of warcraft limitation, not a server.

Regardless of client side limitations, the server could have a character vault or something to remove this limitation incase a player wants multiple characters.
Just store a character and take another out.

To be fair though, in 11 months when Frostmourne resets they're going to implement a way to have more than 10 characters on Icecrown (not sure what that entails yet), so it's not a far stretch to request it a little earlier or for all realms.
