Cannot find any information on the infernal and how it interacted.. Currently in warmane when you cast the inferno it replaces your pet with the infernal instead of being like a guardian along side you and your pet.

Yep. It replaced your pet.

Correct, in retail it would dismiss your pet, and you would have a Enslaved Inferno. Enslavement wore off with the normal enslavement time, and you would have to re-enslave it.

Oh you had to re-enslave? On warmane it just despawns. Maybe that's why no one uses it cause it just despawns and you only get to use it for a minute without ever being able to re enslave
