Sound fading out, coming back in

I am having an issue where occasionally, the sound in game (3.3.5) will fade out, and then come back in at full volume. This happens repeatedly in a cycle.

I recently installed virtual audio cable on Win10 and I'm thinking its related to that, but setting the game back to my normal sound device doesn't fix the issue. Happens with both hardware sound and software.

Assuming you use windows, you may want to look into disabling ducing for windows.
