I was in a group, where an escort quest started, where I died on the way and decided not to complete the quest and leave the group to do other quests, and it seems that this resets the escort quest, and the party members stayed a little upset with me, is that a reason for some kind of punishment for me? I was not aware that the quest could pose a problem. sry bad english not my first language
if it's intentional there actually is a warmane rule for it, "Distrupting gameplay" but unless there's much proof of it there's no case, I would not worry if I was you.

It is disrupting gameplay if you stretch the definition to near infinity. And in that case all gankers that corpse camp the lowbies or kill the NPCs over and over again would fall under that.
Since none of them are being punished I'm pretty certain that a GM wouldn't even think about this report for more than 3 seconds before dismissing it.
