Herb Spawn Rates

I've gone out to look for herbs on a few occasions, and every single time it takes more than 15 minutes to find a single herb I can pick to level in the appropriate zone. It doesn't matter if its 5pm, or 4am, there are no spawns anywhere, even when there are only a few people in the zone. I've got probably 1.5-2 hours into herbalism and I'm only at 90 skill, when I would be probably 300+ if the spawns were anything like they are on classic wow/retail. With NPCs respawning so fast you cant even solo your way through a building/cave, why are the profession spawns so abysmally low? It appears to be the same with mining, especially seeing how inflated the low level prices are for ore. Can't find mithril for under 100g a stack when it was extremely abundant on Icecrown in tanaris.

they are not on timers bruh, they are on a set amount at any given time throughout the zone
