WotLK dk starting zone talents bug

so on the quest where i need to throw the toxin box to convert miners into ghouls and bring them back nothing happened as i threw it at them i thought abandoning the quest and redoing it would fix the issue but as i abandoned it i just got the next one instead any ideas do i really have to make a dk from scratch since im short on some talent points
