WotLK Ele Sham viability (pvp)

I'm looking for some general advice. Just started playing on Warmane recently. I played mage and warrior mostly in retail. Was thinking of leveling an ele shaman on Frostmourne for the burst lols to play 2s with a mage friend of mine, or some solo queue.

My question is: Is this going to be viable/fun? Or am I going to get zerged every game? We don't care about rating really, but there are a lot of BIS gear wars and DKs running around. Do you ele shamans enjoy yourselves pvping here?

Ele is probably the most OP class of the expansion, you'll be fine.
