basically it is no problem to install the game with wine on a linux distro. However, it would be great if there was a simple flatpak solution for the client. This allows us to install and run the game independently of the linux distrubiton and without further configuration.

There's no point. You get the game like everybody else: you download it from this website (or any other in fact) and execute it with Wine or Proton. There is no need for the game in any repo because it is not something that is going to be updated.
If what you miss is a way to show it in your system like any other application, you can create an appropiate .desktop file in /usr/share/applications (as an example of a typical place)
