Character lost

Hello,

Well yesterday , i did a backup of my PC.
When installing again WoW 3.3.5 & joining the real of warmane, my character dissappeared & i wont be able to find it.

I tought i deleted it but it's not the case i think => When mading a new character with the same name & trying to connect with the new character a message error does POP-UP & dissappear after.

Message error : A character with this name already exist & after that my new character does OPEN with the same name.

Is the backup of my character possible in this case or should i continue to play ?
Is it possible that i lost my character because of the backup of my pc ?
